About Station Garage
Station Garage (Caton) Ltd is ideally situated on the A683 in the village of Caton in the lovely Lune Valley. It was originally built in 1919 for Peter Parker with money he had received after leaving the army. It was built by Henry Wright the village joiner.
Mr and Mrs Parker ran the garage with help from their family until 1946, from then until 1954 the business was taken over and run by Peter and Joyce Maudsley (nee Parker). In July 1954, Dennis Taylor along with his father bought Station Garage and also Rose Cottage next door.
Station Garage became a Ford dealership in 1961, and shortly afterwards a new workshop and showroom were built. Dennis Taylor remained as managing director along with co-directors, his brother John Taylor and Kevin Padgett, until 1992 when he and John retired. Kevin then took over the business with new partner, John Clarkson.
Kevin had worked at the garage since 1960 and became a director in 1972, John had previously worked with Mercedes prior to joining Station Garage but the garage remained a Ford dealership and still is today under the leadership of David and Mary Platts.
David and Mary bought the business in 2012 and they run it as it always was, with petrol and diesel sales, workshop servicing, MOT and repairs, new and used Ford car and light vehicle sales, and also an accident repair workshop a mile up the road.
Station Garage (Caton) Ltd is very proud to have won awards from Ford as a 'Top National Performer' and a 'Dealer of Distinction'.
